Botched Butterscotch

Narrator Rebecca Mitchell effectively brings to life the Amish community of Harvest, Ohio, where Bailey King works at her Amish grandparents' candy shop. When Bailey provides the desserts for a Mother's Day luncheon fundraiser, she gets involved in another mystery when someone steals the donations. In voicing Bailey's first-person narration, Mitchell makes listeners think they are right there in Harvest, complete with Bailey's embarrassment at the way her boyfriend's mother insists on believing that Bailey will become her daughter-in-law. Mitchell especially shines in her portrayals of the Amish--she makes each individual sound unique and uses a highly credible accent.
